Our Policy

The strategy of Certification Body is aimed at ensuring the safety of navigation and prevention of pollution by uniform application of relevant international documents, related to the ship’s equipment listed in Annex A.1 of Council Directive 2014/90/EU, as amended, and requirements of Regulation of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia number 183 of 07.02.2014, as amended, regarding equipment to be installed on board of ships related to Safety Certificates issued by EU Member States or on their behalf in accordance with the international Conventions and to ensure the free movement of such equipment within the EU, as well as to ensure that, whatever the products produced in the EU market and putting into service only if it does not pose a threat to human health and safety, property or the environment when it is done properly and according to the service of the Council Directive 2013/53/EC.

The Policy of the Certification Body in the field of quality is to provide services at the level of European standards and in accordance with the overall strategy of the Certification Body.

To ensure this, the Certification Body uses a QMS, which meets the requirements of the standards EN ISO/IEC 17020, EN ISO/IEC 17065, ISO 9001 and EC Council Directives.

The top management of Certification Body aims to implement existing and prospective customer needs and expectations, and the staff of Certification Body is committed to the continuous improvement of all activities.

Quality Policy of the Top Management is aimed for continuous development and improvement of the QMS, taking into account modern methods of management and European standards.

Top management sets the goals and commitments in the field of quality and constantly analyzes QMS, setting priorities for further improvement.

Top management puts down the goal to continuously maintain and ensure the independence and impartiality of all personnel, including subcontractors.

The Certification Body aims to develop a regulatory framework that meets the highest international standards, strengthen prestige at the international level, business relations with customers, maritime administrations, suppliers and other bodies.

Code of Ethics

The Conformity Assessment Body – European Agency of Inspecting and Certification Ltd. (CAB) is an organization that provides services for the conformity assessment of products and certification for compliance with the directives of the EU Council.

Pledge of success and competitiveness of the services of the CAB – a highly qualified staff capable of providing the execution of works and provision of services in all parts of the globe. The CAB maintains the skills of their technicians, inspectors and experts of the QMS at the highest technological level, while maintaining the continuity of using the technical expertise and constantly promoting corporate culture.

Corporate culture of Inspection Body is based primarily on the commitment of all staff to the main goals of the organization, high level of consciousness, discipline and stated principles of impartiality. Each employee of Inspection Body is aware that his work, statements and behavior will be judged on the authorized body as a whole.

The CAB does not produce, does not seal and does not certify any evidence / acts / documents without an appropriate examination, testing and / or required inspections.

The CAB is not using incomplete, unethical or biased information that could harm the reputation of other organizations and companies of the maritime industry. In its activities, the CAB does not infringe upon the interests and does not interfere with the activities of the international market to other authorized bodies and recognized organizations.

The CAB, its top management and staff carrying out the conformity assessment tasks shall not be the designer, manufacturer, supplier, engineers, purchaser, owner, user or responsible for the up keeping of production, on which they carried out an assessment and may not be an authorized representative for any of those parties.

The CAB, its top management and staff carrying out the conformity assessment tasks shall not be entitled to interfere, either directly or as authorized representatives in the design, manufacture or construction, marketing, installation, use or upkeep of these products. They have no right to participate in activities that may affect the independence of judgment and integrity of conformity assessment activities for which they have been notified. This also applies to the provision of consulting services.

The staff of the CAB, including sub-contractors, personnel of external organizations or people acting on behalf of the Inspection Body are obliged to keep confidential all information received or emerged during a conformity assessment, except in cases provided by law. The CAB is not entitled to transfer to third party any information entrusted to him by the client, in order to derive benefits for themselves.

The staff of the CAB in their daily activities should avoid anything that could harm the reputation as an incorruptible CAB and the competent authority. Therefore, strict observance of the principles of the Code of Ethics is one of the basic conditions for further development and prosperity of the CAB.
