Technical documentation required for modules B, F, G and PCA
The technical documentation shall contain the following :
General description of the type;
Conceptual design and manufacturing drawings and schematics of components, subassemblies, circuits and other relevant data;
Descriptions and explanations necessary to understand said drawings and diagrams and the operation of the product;
List of used standards that are applied in whole or in part and descriptions of solutions adopted to meet the essential requirements if harmonized standards have not been applied;
The results of the design calculations made, the studies carried out and other relevant data;
Test reports or calculations, namely for buoyancy and buoyancy;
Emission test reports;
Noise emission test reports.
In general, the above technical documentation is applicable according to the Small Craft Directive, but the Notified Body may request further clarification.
Checklists completed solely on behalf of or by the manufacturer without any additional schematics, specifications, drawings or other required information are not acceptable.
If harmonized standards have been used, the manufacturer must ensure that the latest versions of the standards have been used.
The directive allows the use of different solutions to fulfill the requirements. In such cases, the manufacturer describes these solutions.
Other guidance documents may be used for the construction of small craft, such as requirements for the classification and construction of small craft. The use of other requirements does not exempt the manufacturer from the declaration of conformity on compliance with the requirements of Directive 2013/53/EC and references to the relevant harmonized standards.
If other national standards are used, they must comply with the ISO standards of the international standards organization.
